Okay, I am kinda kidding about the meeting notes, but since we did have our first ever "agenda", I thought I would stick with that theme...
I. How we choose the books we read - it was decided that we will keep a list on this here blog of books that we would like to read. The host of the book discussion for each month will choose what book is read that month (from on the book list or other). But...the host needs to choose three months in advance in order to give people the opportunity to read ahead, should they want to. Hosts for 2012 have been determined through April (see right sidebar). Please e-mail Kelly if you know what month you would like to host after that.
II. Book Schedule
A. For December of 2011, we will be reading "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens. You can get this free for your Kindle by following the link above.
B. For January of 2012, we will be reading "A House at Riverton" by Kate Morton. Please contact Jen Stilling for a copy for your Kindle.
C. Kelly is hosting February's discussion and will decide the book soon. If you have suggestions for our list, please send them ASAP and they will be placed on this blog for everyone to look over as they host.
III. Christmas Book Exchange - we decided to bring a children's book to donate, should you feel so compelled, as well as a book that you have lying around your house to wrap and put into a pile to be exchanged. This will take place next month, Saturday, December 10th at Jeannie's house at 7:30pm.
IV. Scotland/England - Anybody who is interested should start saving their money for a trip to Scotland in the summer of 2013. As of now, we recommend you budget at least $3000. I will keep you updated as more information becomes available. Special note: husbands and friends are invited!
V. "Breaking Dawn" - Everyone is invited to a viewing of this not-to-be-missed show - Sunday, November 20th at 7:25pm at The Majestic. Please e-mail Steph by this Sunday, November 13th if you would like a ticket.
